Since this is Fathers Day, we have to begin with Song For My Father, this time a funky version from Victor Wooten. From there we pay tribute to the Black Live Matters movement and the struggle for racial justice and equality. Avery Sharpe interprets the history of the movement in his album 400. Blanchard, Louis and Croker do their tributes to the cry of "I Can't Breathe" with their original compositions. Glasper and Preminger provide more tributes to the cause.

The first set starts with a reflection of the troubled times we are in. That tune and the next three are all covers of the great songwriting of Paul Simon by various jazz artists. After that, another reflective piece by Hartford area trombonist Steve Davis. Then Chick, who I have been playing a lot frequently and finally a rousing performance from Emmet Cohen with Ron Carter.
