First, a track from the Grammy award winning McBride Big Band. Also, new music from drummer Jonathan Barber's Vision Ahead, and his jazz partner, guitarist Andrew Renfroe. MLK Day
Sunday Jan 25, 2015
Sunday Jan 25, 2015
This radio show was broadcast on Martin Luther King Day. The music on this playlist was inspired by Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. We begin with Herbie Hanckock's "I Have a Dream" written for the King's great speech given during his march on Washington, 1963. Recent events remind us that 52 years later, the King's dream for justice and equality has yet to be realized.
