Around Town

Most of this playlist features jazz artists that have been playing around the Hartford area, or will be in the coming weeks. Joey D hammers the Hammond while taking us to the ballgame. Dan Pugach's Nonet gives Brooklyn Blues a Nawlin's style, Casey takes us to worlds from Starwars. Curtis Bros and Ed Fast go latin style... and much more.

Also a duet project with pianist Frank Carlburg, and a pre-release listen to the Chopin Project with Rob Garcia. We also put Noah through a blindfold test (way to easy). Before we get to the duets, we hear from one of my favorite JMac albums Demon's Dance. That is followed by two sax players with Connecticut roots. Nick Biello and Noah Preminger. Both have new recordings, Biello his premier, and Preminger with plenty. Then the duets: Preminger/Carlberg, Cohen/Hersch, Haden/Metheny. Salim Washington is back, and Sameer Gupta gives us Indian/Jazz fusion.
