This show celebrates two recent birthdays. Chick Corea born June 12, 1941 and Kenny Barron on June 9, 1943. Chick is so missed, and we are fortunate to have Kenny Barron still recording and performing. Other greats represented here are Jackie McLean and Herbie Hancock. Flora Purim surprises us with a new recording at age 80 after a fifteen year absence. Hartford bassist Matt Dwonszyk has released a single from his soon to be released second album.

A couple of birthdays to celebrate this month; Charles Mingus on his Centennial 100th birthday, and Herbie Hancock who turned 82 years young.
