Modern Jazz

Some of the best modern jazz artists are represented on this week's podcast. Many are young emerging players (Josh Evans, Rob Garcia, Masa Kamaguchi, Noah Preminger, Rudy Royston), others are established movers and shakers in the jazz world (Matt Wilson, Bill Frisell, Greg Abate). Let's start with the great alto player Jackie McLean then leap to the present with guitarist Tom Guarna and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. Then we return to some classic jazz from John Coltrane and Oliver Nelson. Then back to the future with Trane inspired George Garzone's The Fringe.
