You all know Cannonball, Monk and Blakey. The last two had birthdays last week and we celebrate those. It's likely you haven't heard Sarah Hanahan, a senior at Hartford's Jackie McLean Instute. After listening to this podcast you now have. You will want to hear more. The podcast begins with a classic rendition of Autumn Leaves and other great Cannonball tracks. This leads to a Monk set with the master himself, and covers by Helen Sung and Branford. It is Art Blakey's 99th birth anniversary so we will hear from him.
